Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

At Ladybridge Primary School we pride ourselves on being inclusive. We recognise each child as being an individual and value their uniqueness, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Ladybridge School's Offer

Teaching and learning styles are adapted to ensure positive outcomes for every child. Through our graduated response, we provide universal, targeted or individualised support to the meet the needs of every learner.  Our provision maps (see below) outline the strategies and support that underpin our provision for learners, across each of the four areas of SEND. We are very proud of our Universal offer, which gives all pupils access to a high quality education and the opportunity to succeed. While the staff of Ladybridge Primary School strive to provide these opportunities, we believe that a child’s education is not the sole responsibility of the school but a partnership between staff, parents and professionals working closely together. If your child continues to work at a level significantly below their peers or makes little progress, despite accessing interventions and quality teaching, they may be identified as having Special Educational Needs. We follow the Stockport Entitlement Framework in the provision of learning for all our pupils. We have pledged to follow the Co-Production Charter which outlines our commitment to working in partnership with parents and carers  of children with SEND in planning and review of their provision. To find out more detailed information, please see the SEND FAQ Document below.

Resourced Provision

Stockport Local Authority commission resourced provision in our Resource class for pupils with needs that cannot be met through mainstream teaching. All children have Educational Health Care Plans (EHCPs) and are allocated their place through the Local Authority EHCP team. Our resourced pupils are an integral part of our school, and benefit from being taught in mainstream classes in the afternoons with specialist support, after being taught in their Resource class in the morning. Our school is enriched by the inclusion of all pupils including the Resource class. For more information information about our Resourced Provision, please click here.
